Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

3 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 lb. margarine, softened
1 c. raisins
1 Tbsp. caraway seed
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1 beaten egg
Preparation

Grease and flour 1 large pan or 2 smaller ones.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar.
Blend in margarine. Add raisins and caraway seed.
Mix with buttermilk combined with the beaten egg.
Spoon batter into pan or pans and brush top with milk.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean.
