Red Rock Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. red cinnamon candies
    1 tsp. margarine or butter
Preparation
    Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy 3-quart saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring often, about 10 minutes or until mixture reaches soft ball stage (234\u00b0).
    Add cinnamon candies, cook stirring constantly, to hard crack stage (300\u00b0).
    Remove from heat, stir in butter.
    Quickly pour into a buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Cool.
    Break into small pieces to serve.
    Yields 1 1/2 pounds.
