Great Aunt Louva'S Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. lard
2 eggs
2 c. quick oatmeal
2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts
1 level tsp. baking soda
5 Tbsp. hot raisin water
1 c. raisins

Preparation

Bring raisins to a boil in enough water to cover them in a small pan.
Turn off heat.
Cream sugar, butter and lard.
Add eggs.
Dissolve baking soda in 5 tablespoons hot raisin water. Add to mixture.
Drain raisins; discard rest of liquid.
Add oatmeal, flour and nuts.
Mix well.
Drop on greased cookie sheets, allow some room for spreading.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
