Swedish Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

2 cakes OR 2 envelopes dry yeast
1 Tbsp sugar
1 C scalded milk
1 C lukewarm water
3 C flour
1/2 C sugar
6 Tbsp melted shortening
1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs beaten until light
4 more cups flour

Dissolve yeast and 1 Tbsp sugar in lukewarm milk and water.
