Shake Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. vinegar
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. alum
    1/3 c. salt
Preparation
    Slice cukes in gallon jug to the rim.
    Mix brine well, do not cook; pour over cukes and shake.
    Keep on counter for 5 days and shake every day 2 or 3 times a day.
    After 5 days, refrigerate. Will keep for months.
