Ingredients

1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree
1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar, loosely packed
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. bread, cut in one-inch cubes
scant 1/2 c. melted margarine
Preparation

Combine sugar, salt, water and puree; bring to a boil.
Boil 5 minutes.
Place bread cubes in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Pour melted margarine over bread cubes; add hot tomato mixture.
Bake, covered, for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Good served with poultry.
