Easy Low-Fat Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    4 c. water (divided)
    1 (15 or 16 oz.) can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
    1 (15 oz.) can navy beans, rinsed and drained
    1 (14 oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained
    2 to 4 tsp. chili powder
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, cook onion and green pepper in 1/2 cup water until tender.
    Add rest of ingredients and seasonings and remaining water (3 1/2 cups).
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
    Yields 7 servings.
