Layer Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium solid head lettuce, cut fine
    1/2 c. green pepper
    1/2 c. celery
    1/2 c. or about 6 green onions
    1 cucumber, cut small
    1 large pkg. frozen peas, thawed and drained
    2 1/2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    1/4 to 1/3 c. sugar
    cheese
    bacon bits
Preparation
    Chop pepper, celery and onions.
    Layer first five ingredients in casserole dish, starting with lettuce.
    Spread peas over chopped vegetables.
