Ingredients

2/3 c. white sugar
1/3 c. cornstarch
dash of salt
2 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Mix first 3 ingredients together in a little bowl.
Pour milk in top of double boiler and get quite warm.
Dump mixture into milk.
Cook until it starts getting thick.
Separate eggs; beat the yolks.
Add about 3 tablespoons of mixture to yolks.
Stir and pour back into milk mixture.
Cook until thick.
Set aside and add vanilla, margarine and coconut.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Beat whites for topping.
