Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped fine
    1 medium carrot, shredded
    1 c. diced celery
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    4 Tbsp. bacon grease
    1/4 tsp. thyme leaves
    2 cans minced clams
    1 can cream of potato soup
    3 c. liquid (water, milk, half and half)
Preparation
    Combine first six ingredients in a 3-quart saucepan and cook until limp.
    Add remaining ingredients and heat thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
