Grits Light Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 c. flour
    1/2 c. instant grits
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    3/4 c. Crisco oil
    1 pt. water
    1/2 c. dry milk
    3 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 2/3 c. water
Preparation
    Cook grits in 1 2/3 cups boiling water for 3 minutes.
    Let cool completely.
    Combine 1 pint lukewarm water with yeast and 1/3 cup sugar.
    Let stand until bubbly.
    Add Crisco, oil and grits.
    Sift flour, dry milk and salt.
    Combine with previous ingredients and let rise.
    Knead down.
    Divide into 8 well-greased coffee cans. Let rise.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 35 minutes.
    Makes great toast!
