Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. fat
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift the flour and salt together.
    Cut in fat.
    Add and stir in milk to make soft dough.
    Divide dough in half.
    Roll 1 part to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut into strips.
    Drop dumplings, 1 at a time, into liquid.
    Keep dumplings pushed aside with fork so that dumplings will be separated.
    Pour into baking dish.
    Roll other half of dough to fit baking dish.
    Place on top of chicken and crimp edges.
    Slash crust to allow for escape of steam.
    Brush crust with butter and bake.
