Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. soda
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation

Set aside and let set boiling water, chopped dates and soda. Cream together butter, Crisco, sugar and beaten eggs.
Add flour, cocoa and salt and mix.
Add last dates, water and soda mixture and blend well.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Spread chocolate chips and nuts over top of batter.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
