Sourdough Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk, scalded
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. Prospector's Starter
    3 to 4 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine milk, sugar, shortening and salt.
    Cool mix.
    In large bowl, place the cup of starter; add cooled milk mixture.
    Stir in flour to make a pliable dough.
    Knead 1 to 2 minutes on floured board.
    Put in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down and shape into round ball.
    Let rise 10 minutes.
    Shape into loaf pan that has been greased.
    Makes 2 loaves.
    Let rise until double.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    Remove from pan and cool on cake rack.
