Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    enough apples to fill 6 qt. jars
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    10 c. water
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Peel, core and slice apples.
    Blend water and lemon juice. Fill jars with apple slices.
    Mix all other ingredients in large saucepan.
    Bring to boil and stir to thicken.
    Pour over apples. Process in boiling water bath 20 minutes.
    One jar makes 1 large pie; 2 jars makes cookie sheet of bars.
