Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. cubed lean beef
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    3 1/2 c. water
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    6 medium potatoes, cubed
    4 medium onions, cut up
    1 c. tomato ketchup
    1/2 c. dry red wine
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. peas
Preparation
    Put in large saucepan and brown meat well in shortening; add water, onion, salt, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
    Cover; simmer 45 minutes until meat is tender, occasionally stir.
    Add potatoes, carrots, onion, peas, ketchup and wine.
    Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
