Top Of Stove Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 slices buttered bread, cut in cubes
    3 eggs, beaten
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
Preparation
    In a double boiler, put in order; first, brown sugar.
    Add buttered bread cubes.
    Beat the eggs; add milk, vanilla and salt. Pour over brown sugar which is in bottom of double boiler.
    Do not stir.
    Cook over boiling water about 1 hour.
    Add raisins and coconut.
    Cook until done (custard texture).
