Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. warm water
    1 Tbsp. baking soda
    1 c. Brer Rabbit molasses (green label)
Preparation
    Beat in bowl the butter, sugar, flour and salt until fine crumbs.
    Remove 1 cup crumbs; set aside.
    Mix together and stir warm water, soda and molasses.
    Add to flour mixture and beat until smooth.
    Pour into a 10 x 14-inch greased and floured pan. Sprinkle the cup of crumbs on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
