Ingredients

1-1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. burnt sugar liquid
2 c. butter or oleo
3 eggs
3 c. cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Make burnt sugar liquid by melting 1 c. sugar in an aluminum pan (heavy pan) over high heat. When dark brown, add 1 c. boiling water and boil hard for 5 minutes.
