Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Beat shortening and sugar until creamy; add egg and molasses and beat well.
Mix dry ingredients and add to molasses mixture alternately with boiling water.
Beat after each addition.
Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Serve warm.
