Ingredients

1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
yolk of 1 egg
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Add salt, yolk of one egg, then flour. Add vanilla.
Chill and work into balls. Press with thumb and fill with tart jelly (plum or apricot).
Bake at 250\u00b0 for 30 minutes on ungreased pan.
