Southern Shrimp And Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 slices bacon
    1 1/2 lb. chicken thighs, halved
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. chopped onions and celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    2 tsp. chopped garlic
    1 can chicken broth
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. red, white pepper and thyme
    1 lb. shrimp, peeled
    2 Tbsp. parsley
Preparation
    Cook bacon.
    Discard all but 2 tablespoons drippings.
    Brown chicken in batches over high heat, transfer to bowl.
    Add flour to pan.
    Cook until browned.
    Add onions, celery, green pepper and garlic; cook about 5 minutes.
    Stir in broth, salt, pepper and thyme.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes.
    Return chicken to pan; cook 5 minutes more.
    Stir in shrimp and cook about 2 minutes.
    Sprinkle with bacon.
    Makes 6 servings.
