Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 more c. sugar
    2 c. broken pecans
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Put 2 cups sugar, water, salt and pecans in saucepan; bring to boil.
    Brown 1/2 cup sugar in iron skillet and let it melt to a light caramel color.
    Pour this into first mixture.
    (Be careful as this could cause a splash.) Continue to cook until it forms a soft ball when tested in cold water.
    Add butter and stir until it cools and thickens a bit.
    Quickly drop by spoonful on wax paper which is on newspaper.
    When cool, pralines will lift off.
