Ingredients

1 pkg. yellow (or white) cake mix
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. coconut, divided into 1/2 cup, 1/2 cup and 1 cup
3 1/2 c. (8 oz.) whipped topping
Preparation

Prepare cake mix as directed on package, baking in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
Cool 15 minutes, then poke holes through the cake with utility fork.
