4 Salisbury Steaks - cooking recipe

1 1/4 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 c. finely chopped onions
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. allspice
Preparation

Shape into oval patties and fry in 1 tablespoon oil.
To make the gravy, remove the meat from the pan and add 1/4 pound fresh mushrooms to the drippings.
In a small bowl, stir 3 tablespoons flour, adding 1 1/2 cups water, a little bit at a time.
Add this to the mushrooms with 1 tablespoon catsup and 1 teaspoon salt. Serve this with mashed potatoes, a salad and warm bread and you have a very nice meal for 4 people.
