Southern Pecan Bars - cooking recipe

1 1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1/3 c. soft butter or margarine
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. finely chopped pecans
2 eggs
1/4 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Preparation

Sift 1 1/3 cups flour with baking powder.
Cream butter until light and fluffy.
Gradually add 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Blend in flour mixture; stir in 1/2 cup pecans.
Press mixture firmly into greased 12 x 8-inch pan.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
