Maple And Spice Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 c. raisins
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
    2/3 c. milk
    1/2 c. maple syrup
    1/2 c. melted margarine
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease an 8 or 9-inch square pan. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup.
    Level off.
    In large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, raisins, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and peel.
    Mix well. Add milk, syrup, margarine and eggs.
    Stir until dry ingredients are moistened.
    Pour into greased pan. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 17 to 22 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
    Serve warm.
    Yields 9 servings.
