German Pecan Brittles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. corn flakes cereal, crushed
Preparation

Cream
shortening
in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each
addition.
Sift
together
flour, baking powder, soda and salt in
a
medium mixing bowl; add cereal and pecans, stirring to coat
well.
Stir
flour
mixture
and
vanilla into creamed mixture,
mixing
well.
Drop
dough
by
teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased and floured cookie sheets.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes and cool on wire racks.
Yields 11 dozen.
