Brownies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/3 c. shortening or butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
In medium saucepan, melt chocolate and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Mix sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Spread in pan.
Bake until brownies start to pull away from sides of pan, about 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool slightly.
Cut into 2 x 2-inch squares.
