White Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. emulsifier type shortening
    1 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 egg whites, beaten
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together into bowl; add shortening, milk and vanilla.
    Beat 300 strokes with a spoon or 2 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed, until well blended.
    Add egg whites and beat 2 minutes more.
    Pour into 2 greased and lined 8-inch round layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
