Blushing Apple Or Rhubarb Dessert - cooking recipe

1 1/4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 Tbsp. milk
sliced apples or cut-up rhubarb
3 oz. strawberry jello

1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
Preparation

Mix with beater the 1 1/4 cups flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, salt and butter; combine slightly beaten egg and milk; add to butter mixture and blend well.
Press into 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
Press sliced apples in dough overlapping (or cut up rhubarb).
Mix with Jell-O, 1 tablespoon sugar and sprinkle over fruit.
Cover with a topping of 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter, mixed until crumbly.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until edges are brown.
