Orange Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges
    2 (7 oz.) bottles ginger ale or 7-Up
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange gelatin
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
    1/2 c. whipped cream
    2 bananas
Preparation
    Drain oranges well.
    Heat 1 bottle of ginger ale to boil.
    Add gelatin.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Add second bottle of ginger ale and lemon juice.
    Stir in vanilla and salt.
    Chill until syrupy. Fold in whipped cream, bananas and oranges.
    Place in a 7 x 11-inch pan or mold and chill until firm.
    Serves 8.
