Sweet Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter (1/4 lb.)
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. cornmeal (yellow)
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together by stirring around until soft and combined.
    Break the eggs into the butter and sugar and beat together with a large spoon.
    Beat well.
    Add the cornmeal, then sift together the flour, baking powder and salt and stir in alternating with the milk.
    Beat after each addition; beat a little flour and milk until all ingredients are combined.
    Turn into a greased baking pan about 2 to 2 1/2 inches deep.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 30 to 40 minutes.
    Test for doneness.
