Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    4 eggs, yolks separated
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. walnuts (black or English), floured lightly
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Add dry ingredients (which have been sifted together) alternately with water. Beat well after each addition. Add flavoring and unbeaten egg whites separately. Fold in nuts.
