Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. brown sugar (light is best)
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
1 egg
1 c. sour milk (add 1 tsp. lemon juice to milk to make sour)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation

Mix flour and sugar.
Add and cut in shortening; set aside 3/4 cup to use as topping.
To remaining crumbs, add egg, sour milk, soda and cinnamon.
Mix to blend.
Spread in greased 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs and nuts. Bake in preheated oven at 325\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
