"Yankee" Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. ketchup
    1 large can tomatoes
    2 cans dark kidney beans, drained
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 small can spicy V-8 juice or 4 to 5 dashes hot pepper sauce
Preparation
    In large kettle, brown ground beef and onion in oil.
    Drain well.
    Add tomato sauce, ketchup, tomatoes and kidney beans.
    Stir well over medium heat until blended.
    Add remaining ingredients; stir well.
    Cover pan.
    Turn heat to low and let simmer at least one hour, stirring occasionally.
    Serves 6 to 8.
