Parker House Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 pt. scalded milk
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. shortening
    7 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt, shortening and scalded milk.
    Let cool. Dissolve the yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water and add to milk mixture.
    Stir in the flour to make a dough just stiff enough to barely handle.
    Let rise in a greased bowl covered with tea towel. Work down when doubled in size and let rise again.
    Shape into rolls and put in greased pans.
    When double in size, bake at 400\u00b0 to 425\u00b0 for 12 to 20 minutes, depending on size of the rolls.
