Streamlined White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. warm water (not hot)
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 c. sifted flour (plus)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Add shortening, salt, sugar and half the flour.
    Beat 2 minutes.
    Add remaining flour and blend until smooth.
    Place in greased bowl and cover with towel, let rise 30 minutes in warm place.
    Punch down. Put in 2 loaf pans (greased), cover and let rise for 40 minutes. Bake until brown.
