Shrimp Bisque - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raw shrimp
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. minced garlic
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 onion, minced
    1 rib celery, minced
    1/2 carrot, grated
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1 qt. light cream or half and half
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    dry sherry
    chopped parsley
Preparation
    Boil shrimp with garlic and salt in 3 cups of water for 4 to 5 minutes; drain, reserving liquid.
    Shell and devein shrimp. Return shells to reserved cooking liquid and boil down until liquid measures 1 1/2 cups.
    Strain and reserve broth.
