Buttermilk White Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup Crisco shortening
    2 cups sugar (save 1/4 cup for egg whites)
    3 cups plain White Lily flour
    1/8 tsp. soda
    2 round tsp. baking powder
    Dash of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup buttermilk
    5 egg whites whipped with 1/4 cup sugar
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar.
    Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and soda.
    Add slowly with milk.
    Then fold in egg white. Bake in layer pans until done.
    325 degrees.
