Basic Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 small clove garlic, halved
    28 oz. peeled tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    6 oz. tomato paste
    2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Heat olive oil in a large saucepan.
    Add onions and garlic. Saute over medium heat 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
    Remove and discard garlic.
    Add tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, tomato paste and sugar.
    Heat to boiling, then simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes or until thickened.
