Okra Soup(Charleston) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large meaty ham bone
    2 lb. fresh okra, chopped and stemmed
    6 peeled fresh tomatoes or 3 (14 oz.) cans
    2 qt. water
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 c. fresh butter beans or 1 small can
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 Tbsp. Tabasco sauce
Preparation
    Cook meat in water for 2 hours in a
    large pot.
    Add tomatoes, okra, onion, butter beans, Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper.
    Cook 1 more hour at low heat, adding water if needed. Stir, season to taste and let simmer 15 minutes.
    Serve hot with cornbread.
