Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, in bite size pieces
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped tomatoes
    1/2 c. sliced mild onion
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. petite peas
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. sour cream
    freshly grated Italian cheese
    6 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
Preparation
    Prepare peas according to package directions; cool.
    Layer vegetables in large glass bowl in the order given, starting with the lettuce and ending with the peas.
    Mix together the sour cream and mayonnaise; spread over peas, covering completely.
    Chill for at least 3 hours or overnight.
    Before serving, top with grated cheese and bacon.
    This recipe serves plenty as a side dish.
