Heavenly Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2 1/2) can crushed pineapple
    1 large angel food cake
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 c. water
    about 2 pt. whipping cream
    2 envelopes Knox gelatine
    1 bottle red cherries
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    juice of 2 lemons
Preparation
    Bring sugar and pineapple to a boil.
    Dissolve gelatine in water and lemon juice and add to pineapple mixture.
    Let it get stone cold.
    Slice cake in 1/4-inch slices.
    Line pan.
    Mix whipped cream with cooled pineapple mixture.
    Pour 1/2 over cake. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and cherries.
    Put 1 more layer of cake, mixture, nuts and cherries.
    Refrigerate.
