Green Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 doz. large cucumbers
    1 c. white vinegar
    2 tsp. alum
    6 c. white vinegar
    7 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 1/2 oz. cinnamon stick
    1 1/2 oz. whole allspice
    1 Tbsp. green food coloring
    2 c. salt
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and place in crock-pot with 2 cups salt and water to cover.
    Let set for 3 days.
    Next 3 days drain and cover with fresh water.
    On the 7th day, simmer for 1 1/2 hours with 3 quarts of water, 1 cup white vinegar and alum.
    Drain.
    Add syrup.
