White Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    5 large eggs
    1 3/4 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 lb. candied cherries
    1 lb. candied pineapple
    4 c. pecans, chopped
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. lemon
Preparation
    Cream butter until fluffy.
    Gradually add sugar while beating. Add eggs, one at a time.
    Dredge chopped fruit and nuts in part of the sifted flour.
    Add baking powder to the remaining flour and add to batter.
    Add vanilla and lemon.
    Fold in dredged fruit and nuts.
    Pour batter into a tube pan which has been greased and lined with brown paper.
    Start in a cold oven and bake at 250\u00b0 for 3 hours.
