Bishop'S Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. sour milk
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, salt and Crisco.
    Save 2/3 cup for 2 tops. To the remaining mixture, add baking powder, cinnamon, egg, soda and sour milk.
    Beat briskly or use a mixer for 2 minutes, until batter is smooth.
    Add 1/4 cup raisins to each and chopped nuts, if desired.
    Pour into two 8-inch pans.
    Scatter crumbs over tops and extra cinnamon.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in a 400\u00b0 oven.
