Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 green tomatoes
    1/2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes into 1/2-inch slices. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Dredge tomato slices in flour. Saute in hot shortening until brown on both sides. Cook until soft in middle. Serve hot.
