Shrimp Creole(Serves 6) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 oz. frozen shrimp, thawed (medium-size)
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt
dash of hot pepper sauce
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. celery, chopped
3 Tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation

Cook onion, celery and garlic until tender.
Add tomatoes, sauce, salt, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and hot sauce.
Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
Mix cornstarch and cold water and stir into sauce.
Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
Add shrimp and green pepper.
Cover and simmer for 5 minutes longer.
Serve over hot rice.
