Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. corn meal (yellow)
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. shortening or cooking oil
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
Sift together corn meal, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Add egg, milk and shortening; mix well by hand until all ingredients are well blended.
Bake in 8-inch square pan or greased muffin pans 20 to 25 minutes.
